Performance Graded Asphalts are manufactured to adapt to a range of temperatures in degrees Celsius. Associated Asphalt supplies paving-grade liquid asphalts in several grades ranging from low temperatures of -28 degrees Celsius to high temperatures exceeding 88 degrees Celsius. Each grade is numbered to indicate the range of ideal temperature for the setting and extended use of each asphalt.

Virginia DOT used a Highly Modified Asphalt (PG76E-28) supplied by Associated Asphalt to prevent reflective cracking on Interstate 64 in Williamsburg, VA. Two lifts were placed on top of the existing concrete roadway saving time and money over removing the existing concrete.
