Paving The Way Forward® Through Environmental Sustainability, Social Responsibility
and Corporate Governance

Our ESG Commitment

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles are at the core of everything we do at Associated Asphalt. Since our founding in 1948, we have operated from a central point of environmental sustainability, conduct business with the highest ethical standards, and actively engaged with the communities where we do business. As we look to the future, we will continue to be transparent and remain focused on expanding our ESG efforts in three primary areas:

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
We are committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner to reduce our impact on climate change, conserve natural resources and operate in compliance with environmental regulations. We are committed to sustainability across all aspects of our business and our communities.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We are committed to being a socially responsible employer by fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion across our business and supporting our local communities. We will actively seek opportunities to educate and build a workforce that is representative of all groups, ethnicities, and genders.

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
We are committed to building a culture dedicated to ethical business behavior and responsible corporate activity. Governance and oversight with an unwavering commitment to key stakeholders is vital to our success.

Providing Sustainability Through Our Products

Associated Asphalt is committed to innovation leading to the development of new, more durable environmentally friendly products while using less energy to manufacture, store, and apply our asphalt products. We aim to produce products that last longer and are completely recyclable, thus conserving resources. We seek to maintain existing operations, limiting environmental exposure of raw materials and products by using a combination of buildings and completely enclosed tank and piping systems.

By innovating processes and product development, Associated Asphalt continually improves existing products by searching for and using safer, more environmentally friendly alternate materials. We also create new methods to conserve energy and minimize adverse environmental impacts. We test new processes in the lab and perform pilot runs before production approval.

Through the innovation of processes and product development, we conserve energy and resources while we continually improve processes by focusing on sustainable efforts to protect the environment. Many of our staff participate in industry organizations, working at the forefront of industry innovations while also improving our knowledge base. Some of the organizations we are active in include the following:
           Asphalt Institute
           National Asphalt Pavement Association
           Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association
