A Ready Supply for America’s Roadways

The majority of asphalt is produced as part of the crude oil refining process. Refiners will then sell the asphalt either locally or wholesale to third-party companies. Wholesale movements are generally moved via rail, heated barges, and asphalt tankers while local movements are supplied by trucks. We also have specialty blending capabilities strategically located for alternatives.

With our water and rail terminals from New York to Florida, we are able to supply our customers with liquid asphalt from any of our many convenient locations.

Our Network of Terminals

Within our extended network of terminals, Associated Asphalt is capable of receiving, distributing, and producing a variety of penetration, paving grade, and viscosity graded asphalts. Whether we work with commercial entities, municipalities, or state departments of transportation, Associated Asphalt is able to meet and exceed our ever-changing customer demands.

Our Transportation Networks

Utilizing our network of rail, truck, and marine accessible terminals, Associated Asphalt is able to receive and distribute various asphalt grades. We transport asphalt using our own trucking fleet and a modernized fleet of ocean-going barges throughout our system map, while also importing cargoes aboard some of the largest asphalt tankers in the world.

Rail Transportation System

Associated Asphalt’s liquid asphalt terminals are primarily supplied and located on the Norfolk Southern Railway System. We have developed a strong partnership with Norfolk Southern to deliver our products in the most economical and efficient manner.

Norfolk Southern Railways owns and operates lines that extend approximately 21,800 miles of road in 22 states, the District of Columbia, and the Province of Ontario, Canada. With Norfolk Southern’s extensive rail network, we are able to ensure that the most important people to us, our customers, receive their product in an efficient and timely manner.
